It is a real pleasure to introduce you to a group of our heroes—people who care enough about their community to plan for its future, and then to go boldly to work implementing their plan.

These pages contain the stories of these communities, told in their own words.  They describe each community's dreams, goals, strategies and vision for its hometown that resulted from its commitment to strategic community and economic planning in partnership with Building Communities.

We hope you enjoy reading these stories as much as we have listening to these wonderful people and capturing the passion they express in their plans.  Community development work can be its own reward, in addition to providing a clear map to a brighter future.  It certainly is for the communities we serve.
